Principal's Corner

Mrs. Gwynn has been in education for the past 29 years starting as an elementary teacher in 1988. She served as the Assistant Principal of Hutchison Elementary in Herndon, Virginia from 2006-2010. While there she won the Virginia Association of Elementary School Principals Assistant Principal of the Year Award in 2009. She then became principal of Herndon Elementary School where she was nominated for First Year Principal of the Year in Fairfax County. She remained in Herndon until her move to Cougar in 2016.

Mrs. Gwynn has a Master’s degree from George Mason University in Elementary Education as well as an endorsement in Administration and Supervision.

Both of Mrs. Gwynn’s children are in college, her son is at JMU, and her daughter is at VCU. She currently lives in Bristow with her husband and dog, Boomer.
