Meet your Librarian!
My name is Mrs. Hayden and this is my tenth year at Manassas Park Elementary School and my thirteenth year teaching. My previous work experience includes working for the U.S. Customs Service as a cataloger, an elementary librarian in Bennington, Vermont and eleven years ago I was the librarian at Manassas Park High School.
I received my bachelor's degree from Kutztown University in Kutztown, PA and I am fully certified to teach library/information literacy skills in Pennsylvania and Virginia. I graduated from the University of South Carolina in May 2012 with a Masters Degree in Library and Information Science.
Some of my hobbies include: medieval/renaissance reenactments, reading, painting fantasy figurines, floor hockey, watching movies/anime and touring Civil War battlefields. The picture you see above is Davis College on the campus of the University of South Carolina in Columbia. I can now call this wonderful building home of the School of Library and Information Science.
I want your child's library experience to be a challenging and exciting one. If you have a question, concern, or praise feel free to leave me a note. I will try to answer all emails within two business days. -Mrs. Hayden
