MPCS Teacher of the Year- Darnell Greene
Congratulations to Darnell Greene for being named the Manassas Park City Schools Washington Post Teacher of the Year!!! Mr. Greene has been a math teacher with MPCS since 2003. In his many roles he has served as an 8th grade teacher, a high school teacher, a math department chair, a coach, and a member of the leadership team. “Mr. Greene stands out as an exemplary educator who is not only dedicated to his life’s work but also possesses an innate ability to inspire and guide students of all backgrounds and abilities to achieve their very best,” says Principal Kip Tuttle. Colleague Leah Nalette says, “he gives his time and energy selflessly to our teachers and students. He coaches, helps out in any way he can with after-school activities, and is the first to volunteer to cover classes for teachers who are out.” Mr. Greene has participated in many activities outside the classroom including professional development, curriculum writing, and mentoring. Outside of school he also serves as a board member for an organization that works to uplift the self-esteem of children in foster care settings. Mr. Greene is a valued member of the Manassas Park team, and we’ve met so many people with nothing but positive words to say about him and his work with our students. Congratulations, Darnell!!!
