Anne Shaw, RN, BSN, MA

Nurse Coordinator, Manassas Park City Schools

Nurse Shaw began her career in Manassas Park City Schools as an LPN in early 2000 prior to the completion of the new schools! She graduated from George Mason University in 2009. As the nursing team continues to grow, she is committed to the health and wellness of all students and staff. She is honored to be serving the community and it has been the highlight of her nursing career. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and enjoying/making delicious food!

Deborah Braun, LPN

Nurse, Cougar Elementary School

Nurse Braun began her nursing career nearly 40 years ago and has been the nurse at Cougar Elementary for the last 8 years! Prior to being a school nurse, she was a pediatric nurse at an Asthma/Allergy practice. Her interest in pediatrics and community health are why she loves being a school nurse and caring for the children of Manassas Park City Schools. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two grown sons, and her grandchildren Sadie and Cole! She also enjoys staying active with her two Australian Shepherd puppies: Hobie and Kobie!

Rosie Cardoza, LPN

Nurse, Manassas Park Elementary School

Nurse Rosie began her nursing career over 10 years ago as a pediatric nurse. Having four children of her own, she appreciates all stages of child development (especially the middle years) and loves serving at MPES! She is a member of the Medical Reserve Corp and serves as both a liaison and Spanish language translator within the Manassas Park City School family. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family, hiking, camping, running, and cheering on her children at their variety of sporting events!

Sherri Washington, RN, MSN

Float Nurse

Nurse Washington began her nursing career over 35 years ago focusing on Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care, Maternity, and Nursing Education. She was also a substitute nurse in Manassas Park City Schools for 4 years. Her work in nursing has given her not only great joy; but also, the ability to feel a great sense of community and family, especially in Manassas Park. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her 17, 21, and 28 year old children. She also enjoys animals, nature, gardening, cooking, and running!

Dianna VonVital, LPN

Nurse, Manassas Park Middle School

Nurse VonVital began her nursing career over 35 years ago and has been a nurse in Manassas Park City Schools for 17 years! She loves being a nurse! She is a native of Northern Virginia and is a proud member of the Medical Reserve Corp. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and three daughters (fun fact - two of them are twins!), cooking, and walking.

Nora Melendez, LPN

Nurse, Manassas Park High School

Nurse Nora began her nursing career over 20 years ago! She is also a proud graduate of Manassas Park High School herself. She joined the Manassas Park City Schools family as a nurse in the elementary school in 2012 and moved to the high school more recently. Nurse Nora has 3 children who attend Manassas Park City Schools and she loves the community here! Outside of work, she enjoys watching soccer and traveling with her family!

Ashley D. Koranteng, MPH

Division Health Specialist, Manassas Park City Schools

Ashley Koranteng is new to the Manassas Park City Schools family and joined us after teaching middle school math for 2 years in Fairfax County Public Schools! She is a graduate of George Mason University, where she received her B.S. in Community Health from their Honors College in 2019 and her Master of Public Health (MPH) in Community Health Promotion in 2021. Outside of work, she enjoys mentoring and supporting young girls, coaching elementary school aged girls basketball, fashion, working out, and spending time with her family!
